UNC System Admission Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO
UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA INSTITUTIONS
6 course units in Language including:
• 4 units in English emphasizing grammar, composition and literature
• 2 units of a language other than English
4 Course units of Mathematics in any of the following combinations:
• Algebra I and II, Geometry, and one unit beyond Algebra II
• Algebra I and II, and two units beyond Algebra II
• Integrated Math I, II and III, and one unit beyond integrated Math III
(Math Courses with Algebra II as a Prerequisite that meet the UNC Minimum Course Requirement: AP Calculus, AP Statistics, PreCalculus (formerly Advanced Math), Discrete Mathematics, IB Mathematics Level II, Integrated Mathematics IV, Advanced Functions and Modeling)
3 course units in Science including:
• At least one unit in a life or biological science (for example, Biology)
• At least one unit in physical science (for example Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics)
• At least one laboratory course
2 course units in Social Studies including:
• One unit in History
Minimum High School GPA and SAT/ACT scores for admission to UNC Institutions

➢ Minimum SAT – 800
➢ Minimum ACT – 17
➢ (1% exceptions per campus)
